Sifting through the clutter and noise to highlight great homilies
If you’ve been regularly to Church services, you would have heard some okay homilies, some terrible ones and some really great ones. Would you like to listen to those inspirational homilies again to fully grasp all of what had been said? But alas, most homilies are just delivered that week and then no longer available afterwards.
Avoiding Bad Homilies
Then there are the times we hear truly terrible homilies. My friends and I still recount the week our pastor told us about Randy the Rhino. Or the times I visited my parent’s parish for Christmas and heard homilies about the evils of Star Wars one year and then the evils of Deepak Chopra the next. These are the types of messages that do little to draw people to the Church. While the pastor may have had a valid point to make, the way it was conveyed just caused me to recoil in anger.
Who are the voices present most in your life?
In self-help circles, you will often hear that your income will greatly resemble the 5 people you surround yourself most. So if you want to make more money and achieve more success in your life, then surround yourself with like minded achievement focused individuals. Similarly, I believe, your faith journey deserves powerful voices that will bring you closer to God. This site will allow you to find such voices and if you listen to them regularly, your faith will grow and you will be a better Christian.
Raising the profile of worthy speakers
It takes a lot of effort to create content that is excellent. Let’s celebrate and learn from those individuals who have the gift of being able to help us understand our faith better. Let’s raise them up with donations and in so doing give glory to God.
